NY Times Editorial Board Weighs in on New Sheridan Proposal, Cites SBRWA Leadership

Today, the New York Times Editorial Board weighed in on Governor Cuomo's recent proposal for the Sheridan Corridor. The Editorial Board cited SBRWA's work and included the following quote from SBRWA member Pratt Center's Elena Conte, "If Governor Cuomo wants credit for undoing the legacy of Robert Moses in the South Bronx, he will do that not just by making physical changes, but also by listening to a community that Moses pointedly ignored." SBRWA Brings Together 300 South Bronx Youth to Celebrate State Funding for Transformation of Sheridan Expressway by Planning for New Boulevard

On Friday, May 13th, SBRWA members brought together 300 South Bronx youth to celebrate Governor Cuomo's announcement that the NY State Budget will include funding for the conversion of Sheridan Expressway into a neighborhood-friendly boulevard. The summit engaged young people with interactive workshops and participatory planning exercises to envision the future of the neighborhood made possible by conversion.
